Getting to Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays

Travel by Air:

WHITSUNDAY COAST airport near Proserpine is 35 kms (approx. 35 minutes) from Airlie Beach. Due to road works the large public bus is unable to drop you at our door as the turning area is being reconstructed. We suggest you take a shuttle, you can pre book this on www.whitsundays2everywhere.com.au. Taxis are also available; you may be able to share a taxi. Both will drop you at our door and the cost of the shuttle or a shared taxi is currently the same as the bus. Hire cars and limousines can be pre booked to meet you.

HAMILTON ISLAND airport is the next closest option. Cruise Whitsunday’s operate ferry services from Hamilton Island Airport wharf. The ferry meets all incoming flights. Some airlines include the ferry cost in their ticket if you book to Airlie Beach. Cruise Whitsunday’s ferries come to Able Point Marina in Airlie Beach, a shuttle bus connects with the ferry and will drop you at our door or there are taxis. GSL Aviation offer a service from Hamilton Island airport to a small airport just ten minutes from Airlie Beach. This is a lovely option as you get to see the islands and their surrounding reefs from the air.
